For a typical project, Acorn Engineering will provide the following services:

  • Attend pre-construction meeting with agency, contractor, and developer.
  • Conduct site visits to review erosion controls per a project's individual permit requirements
  • Develop inspection reports and site observation log
  • Verify completion of permanent erosion control measures
  • Prepare condition compliance submission for the MDEP

POST CONSTRUCTION ANNUAL STORMWATER INSPECTIONS

The Maine Department of Environmental Protection has recently passed new regulations to require third party inspections for development projects in Maine. The frequency of inspections is dependent on a projects individual permit but typically requires a minimum of a site observation twice a year. Acorn Engineering would perform the following services for a typical project:

  • Perform site observations in conformance with the approved project's Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Plan such as:
    • Detention Basins
    • Vegetated Buffers
    • Bioretention Cells
    • Catch Basins
    • Permanent erosion control measures
    • Subsurface Detention Basins
  • Prepare observations report suitable for the MDEP
  • Coordinate necessary maintenance activities.
  • File individual observation reports
  • Compile 5 year report for submission to the MDEP
